Halloween activities in the Ottawa area

halloween-decorations-1466014With Halloween approaching, the city of Ottawa has tons of children’s activities to get your kids excited about the spookiest season of the year.

 

 

Le Village Fantome (Ghost Town) in Cantley will be on the weekend of the 23rd to 25th of October. It is a great activity with young kids.

If you are up for a short drive, Upper Canada Village has it’s annual Pumpkinferno starting October 1st with over 6,000 hand-carved pumpkins. It is open Thursday to Sunday from 7 to 10 pm and Thanksgiving Monday.

Haunting Season at Saunders Farm is from September 26th to November 1st with a haunted hay ride, play structures, the barn of terror, puppet shows, mazes, Ghost Town Stage and the Witch Mountain Slide. Saunders Farm is also home of the Fright Fest in the evening for older children.

Proulx Berry Farm in the East end will be hosting their 20th pumpkin fest starting October 4th through to the 31st with face painting, inflatable bouncies, a Halloween costume contest, pyramids, wagons rides through the mysterious forest, haunted mazes and pick your own pumpkin. In the evening, Proulx Berry Farm is home of Skreamers for older children with 3 haunts to experience.

Cannamore Orchard, home of the Spooky Wagon Ride with the Spooky Village, the Kids Spooky House, the Fog Maze will be open October 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, 29 , 30, 31 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm and October 17 & 24 from 12 to 5 pm.They are also hosting family days on October 18th & 25th with tons of Halloween activities and a chance to enjoy a family friendly version of the Spooky Wagon ride at a great rate.

Take part in the Haunted Walk Experience at the Mackenzie King Estate on September 26th at 7pm for the English tour and 7:20 pm for the French tour.

Visit downtown Ottawa in a way you’ve never experience before with the Haunted Walk

Come out to Carp at the Cold War Museum to experience the Incident at the Bunker  on October 10, 17, 24, 25 & 31st.

Children older then 10 can come explore Watson’s Mill in Manotick during the creepiest time of the year during their evenings of the Haunted Mill from October 22nd to 24th from 7 to 10 pm. For younger children, they are having a Halloween Party on October 31st.

The Children’s Museum has some special Spooky Halloween Crafts in the studio for kids to make everyday in October from 10am to 4pm. On October 31st, from 9:30 am to 1pm, they will be hosting A Halloween Party For Monsters of All Ages with crafts, games, face painting and live entertainment geared towards children ages 3 to 8.

Mansion Mayhem at Goulbourn Museum on October 25th from 1 to 4 pm. Kids ages 6 to 11 will make edible crafts, spooky decorations and play games.

Halloween Fun at Hugli’s Blueberry Ranch in Pembroke starting October 16th to 31st (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays). Activities include a haunted house of terror with a wagon ride to and from the house of terror, a 6 acre creepy corn maze and magic shows in the evening.

Come out to Ottawa’s most terrifying haunted experience, the Haunted Historic Village at the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum Friday & Saturday nights starting at 7pm from October 9th to 30th. Advance ticket purchase is strongly recommended.
