Awesome March Break Activities in the Ottawa Area

With March Break 2017 right around the corner, here are some awesome activities to keep your kids busy!

Take your kids to the movies for only 3$ with the March Movie Break offered by Landmark Cinemas.

Indigo – Chapters are offering FREE March Break events Monday to Friday at 11am.

  • Monday: Qixels Craft Day
  • Tuesday: Klutz Craft Day
  • Wednesday: Hasbro Gaming Day
  • Thursday: Hats off to Dr. Seuss
  • Friday: Come Play-Doh with us

If you are a hockey fan, head down to Aberdeen Pavilion at Lansdowne Park on March 17th to see the Stanley Cup, have your picture taken with the Stanley Cup and meet several NHL alumni.

The Ottawa Art Gallery will have FREE morning drop-in activities for kids 5 to 11 from Monday march 13th to Friday March 17th. No registration required.

  • Thursday: Photography
  • Friday: 3D

The National Capital Commission is organizing a winter carnival for newcomers in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary. Come discover the joys of winter: learn to place ball hockey, snowshoe in the forest, sample traditional winter treats. Free admission and bus transportation from various locations. Check out the great activities offered at Ottawa museums:

  • barnyard break at the Canada Agriculture Museum
  • sky-high magic, an incredible and uplifting magic show in the Canada Aviation and Space Museum on March 12th from 11am to noon.

Take part in the Annual Lego Contest on Friday March 17th at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum in Ottawa. Activity is FREE but pre-registration is required.

On March 15th from 10am to 4pm, come check out the 1st annual Linking Hands Expo in conjunction with Maple Ridge Centre’s March Madness Family Fun Day where your kids will be able to enjoy inflatable games, a petting zoo, crafts, face painting and much more. Activity band to participate in any activities cost 5$ for children 2 and up.

Bring your children to the Goulbourn Museum on March 12th from 1pm to 4pm for the Magical, Mythical Monsters – Family Craft DayActivities are geared towards children 4 to 11 years old and cost is 4$ per child.

Head out to the Bell Sensplex in Kanata on March 11th & 12th for the Youth Sport Expo where you can watch Ottawa sporting organizations in actions as they demonstrate their sport, talk to a wide range of exhibitors about their sport and products and listen to experts speaking about a variety of topics such as the science behind concussions or proper nutrition!

Come to the Princess Dance Party on March 16th from 5pm to 8pm. It is a fun celebration for all Superheroes & Princesses in support of the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada! This event features delicious snacks, a dance party, music, princess beauty parlour, superhero hair styling, entertainment, lots of princesses, superheroes…and so much fun. It’s the perfect way to end your March Break with the kids!

Sunday March 19th at 2pm, cheer on the Ottawa 67s as they play against the Hamilton Bulldogs  at the fan appreciation game. Tons of surprise giveaways! Tickets as low as 15$ per person.

Get up close and personal with a variety of animals at Omega Park. A great family activity during March Break!

If the weather allows, go for a hike in the Gatineau Park on one of these kid friendly trails.

Visit a Sugar Bush!
