Family Friendly Activities August 17th to 19th

There will be 3 fairs this weekend! The Arnprior Fair from August 16th to 19th, the Vankleek Hill Fair from August 16th to 19th and the Capital Fair from August 17th to 26th. There will also be the Festival de la Curd in St Albert from August 15th to 19th.

Last weekend to see the Changing of the Guard ceremony on Parliament Hill. Ceremony starts at 10am!

Storytime at Rideau Hall Friday and Saturday  from 1pm to 3pm, Frontier College volunteers invite the general public, families and youth groups to settle in under the Reading Tent to read books and to participate in fun literacy activities.

The Sound and Light show Northern Light will be presented on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 10pm on Parliament Hill. A must see this summer!

Free Zumba on the Parliament Hill on Sunday July 22nd from 3 to 4:15pm. Don’t forget your water and your smile! Open to all ages.

A Compagny of Fools presents the 16th Annual Torchlight Shakespeare. The Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare will be playing at Windsor Park on Saturday August 18th at 2pm and 7pm.

The Westboro Fuse Festival will be on this weekend. It is a block Party with live music and entertainment for the whole family. Kids will love Junkyard Symphony and Sing Song Party!

It’s World Honey Bee Day on August 18th at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum. Get the buzz on honeybees and learn how these small insects not only supply us with honey but have a huge impact on agriculture and our everyday lives. Join us at this family friendly event that’s sure to be the bee’s knees!

Beautiful Petrie Island Beach will be home to First Annual Petrie Summer Smash Beach Volleyball Tournament, a great tournament for a great cause. Held in support of Variety of Ottawa – the Children’s Charity on August 18th 2018 from 9:30am to 8:00pm. There will be a stage with a full days line-up of performers, a beer garden, food vendors, much much more!
