MONDAY AUGUST 12th

Free Yoga in the Park on Monday August 12th at 7pm at Portobello Park in Orleans.

TUESDAY AUGUST 13th

Summer Family Mornings will take place at the NAC on Tuesday August 13th from 10am to noon. There will be FREE activities, games, musical guests and more, for children of all ages.

Get ready! The famed Royal Air Force nine plane precision Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, are coming to Gatineau-Ottawa on Tuesday August 13th from 1 to 5pm for the very first full display of their 6 week North American tour!

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 14th

Dungeons and Dragons at the Ottawa Public Library at the Nepean Centrepointe Branch at 6pm. Recommended for Tweens/ Teens ages 10+

Casino Lac-Leamy Sound of Light – Fireworks at the Bytown Museum presents Italy – Estate Italiana from 6pm to 10pm.

Lansdowne Movie Nights presents La Bolduc on Wednesday August 14th at 8:30pm at Lansdowne Park.

The Festival de la Curd will be on from August 14th to 18th in St Albert with live shows and family activities.

THURSDAY AUGUST 15TH

Free Salsa Tots Classes at Ottawa City Hall (Jean Pigot Place) at 10am on Thursday August 15th. Designed for children 18 months to 5 years, who have outgrown the carrier and are ready to dance on their own two feet!

Free Salsa Babies Classes at Ottawa City Hall (Jean Pigot Place) at 11am on Thursday August 15th.
The use of a baby carrier for the class is MANDATORY.

Raven Park Community Fun Day from 1pm to 4pm on Thursday August 15th. The City’s Parks and Recreation team will be having a water fun afternoon at the wading pool from 1-4pm. Then, Enbridge will be there with their community team and serving Hot Dogs (while supplies last). Finally, the evening caps off with a performance of Romeo and Juliet in the park by A Company of Fools (freewill donation appreciated).

Can You Dig It? (Ages 8 to 11) from 1 to 2:30pm at Billings Estate National Historic Site. Get your hands dirty as you learn to dig for artefacts, identify mystery objects, and try techniques used by scientists every day.

Afternoon Movies at the Ottawa Public Library Metcalfe Branch on Thursday August 15th at 3:30 pm. The movie playing will be Asterix: The Secret of the Magic Potion

Makermobile on Thursday August 15th from 2pm to 3pm at the Ottawa Public Library Greenboro Branch.
Discover, play, build and create with our maker cart. For ages 8-12.

Scottish Screen Time – Highlander at the Canadian War Museum on Thursday August 15th from 8:30 to 11pm.

FRIDAY AUGUST 16TH

Young Naturalists (Ages 3 to 5) from 10am to 11am at the Billings Estate National Historic Site.
Preschooler and parent will explore the Estate together and discover the world like a 19th century naturalist, a historical profession and pastime that combined interests in the arts, sciences, and inquiry.

Start a Story: Young Writer Workshop at 10am at the Ottawa Public Library Rockliffe Park Branch.
Ages 6-10. Registration required.

Storytime at Rideau Hall will be on Friday August 16th from 1 pm. to 3 pm. Frontier College staff and volunteers invite the general public, families, and groups of children to settle in under the Reading Tent to read books and to participate in fun reading, writing, and science activities. We hope to see you there! While you are at Rideau Hall, take in the sights and visit for the whole day!  We have a wide array of free activities offered on-site during the summer.

Honey, I Shrunk the Kids will be playing on Sparks Street from 8:30pm to 10:30pm.

2019 TorchLight Shakespeare Series presents Romeo & Juliet. Admission is free but a 20$ donation is recommended. Monday 12th will be in Strathcona Park, Tuesday 13th in Maplewood Park in Oxford Mills, Wednesday 14th in Nault Park in Vanier, Thursday 15th at Raven Park in Carlington and Friday 16th at Lynwood Park in Bells Corners.

Northern Lights – Sound & Light Show on Parliament Hill will be showing at 9:30pm Monday to Friday. A show featuring key figures, events and achievements from Canadian history are brought to life against the backdrop of the Centre Block and Peace Tower. It’s FREE!

Changing of the Guard Ceremony on Parliament Hill at 10am Monday to Friday.

The Canadian Museum of History welcomes Indigenous Experiences at 11:15am, 1pm, 2:30pm and 4pm Monday to Friday.
Come explore Indigenous culture firsthand through dance performances, near a site once used as both a trading post and a place of friendship and celebration. Tickets are 10$ per person.
