Weekend Fun in Ottawa – May 25th & 26th

Find your fun your family fun in Ottawa the weekend of May 25th & 26th.

SATURDAY MAY 25th

The Kanata Ribfest will be on from 11am to 10pm. There will be 5 Ribbers from Canada and the US, a midway and carnival rides, Ribber Olympics at 3:30pm, live entertainment, a kids Zone with a climbing wall, bouncy castles and painting.

The Tamarack Ottawa Race weekend will be happening this weekend. Participate in a run or come encourage runners during their race! The 2k race will take place at 3pm, the 5k race at 4pm, and the 10k race at 6:30.

Aquaman will be showing a participating Cineplex as part of the Cineplex Family Favourites at 11am for only $2.99 per person.

The Great Glebe Garage Sale will be on starting at 7am.

The Sheep Shearing Festival is on at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum from 9:30am to 4pm.

Wesley Clover Parks OVPSC & Trillium Zone East present “Jump into Spring” Hunter Jumper Competitions from 8am to 5pm. Come out to see horses and the competitions.

Tots Be Growing will have their Children’s Consignment Sale from 9am to 5pm at the Carleton Place Hockey Arena.

Handmade Fun: Create a Special Companion from 10am to 4pm at the Canadian Children’s Museum Studio. Celebrate spring with a hands-on craft. Activity is included in museum price.

The Pontiac Agricultural Society is excited to host the RCMP Musical Ride, at the Fairgrounds in Shawville on May 25th. It truly is an event for one and all. Official RCMP festivities get underway at 1:15 p.m. in the outdoor horse ring. With the ride starting at 2 p.m. Bleachers will be set up for seating!!! There are no tickets required. Donations are encouraged but not required to attend, as this is a FREE event.

Butter Slime by Young Entrepeneur Hailey at Funhaven from 3 to 4pm. Slime! Slime! And more Slime!! Join Hailey for this fun slime workshop and leave with your very own BUTTER SLIME. All supplies are included…the kids will have access to fun glitters, colours and textures to design their own unique slime!

SUNDAY MAY 26th

Kids’ Discovery Adventure from 10am to 5pm at the Bank of Canada Museum. Let your kids run free with a self-discovery tool kit. With a magnifying glass, flashlight and artifact pictures, they’ll go on a scavenger hunt to discover that money is not just coins and bills.

Creative Sundays at the Ottawa Art Gallery will be on from 10am to 2pm. Join the Studio for weekly drop-in activities suitable for all ages.

Stittsville Market at the Barn first market of the season starts May 26th from 10 to 2pm. Some of you favourite vendors have returned.

Painting Party with the Polynesian Princess from 10:30am to 12pm at Art Haven in Barrhaven. You will hear stories about her adventures, and get to paint a beautiful ceramic piece. There will also be lots of picture opportunities!

Mermaid Party at Boston Pizza on Greenbank Road in Barrhaven from 11am to 3pm. FREE family fun day to celebrate the wonders of the sea, anything and everything Mermaids and mermen!! There will be live mermaids with their land legs walking around serving tables, glitter tattoos, coloring contests and more!! Costumes and dress up always welcome and encouraged.

Princess Storytime with Snow Queen and Winter Princess from 11:30am to 12:30pm at Indigo Barrhaven. Everyone welcome. No registration required.

The Redblacks are set to host their 2nd annual Fan Fest on May 26th starting from 12pm to 4pm. Come enjoy the always entertaining Family Fun Zone filled with games and inflatables. At 12:45 p.m. the team hits the gridiron, as offence and defence square off in a live scrimmage where fans can get their first look at new players in action. Once the players return from a quick break, fans will get the chance to take part in a variety of football drills on the field and get autographs.

Music at the Museum – Canada Takes Flight from 2 to 3pm at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum. The Museum is more than just aircraft. The world-renowned collection also provides the backdrop for incredible concerts. Three talented musical partners provide unique, inspiring afternoon performances.

Zumba on the Hill is back at 4pm on Parliament Hill. Everyone is welcome! Don’t forget your water bottle.
