Here is a list of great activities happening in and around Ottawa on Canada Day 2023!

Canada Day Activities in the Ottawa Area

There will be something for everyone to enjoy on for Canada Day in Ottawa! This year the celebrations will mostly take place at LeBreton Flats Park from 9am to 10:30pm.

O Canada Orleans at Petrie Island in Orleans. Canada Day on Petrie Island is one of the largest Canada Day events in the nation’s capital, and the premier destination for our incredible eastern Ottawa communities to take part in all things Canadian in celebration of our country’s birthday. From the KidZone to BeerZone, from live music to live animals, and from opening ceremonies to beachfront fireworks, join us for a spectacular party full of civic pride, many free activities and tons of family fun.

Canada Day in Kanata will be held at Walter Baker Park on July 1st starting at 10am. Activities will include live bands, family fun zones, midway and of course, a beautiful display of fireworks!

Canada Day in Barrhaven at Clarke Fields from 8:30 am to 10:40 pm with a Kids Zone with activities & games, stage shows, midway rides, senior’s and family breakfast, free birthday cake, live music and fireworks at 10 pm. There will also be transportation from Heart & Crown Barrhaven and McDonough’s Independent Grocers to Clarke Fields.

Canada Day in Carleton Place at Riverside Park starting at 12:45 pm with tons of activities and entertainment for children of all ages. The day will end with fireworks at 9:45 pm over the Mississippi River.

Canada Day in Osgoode. Come spend the day at the Osgoode Community Centre for some Canada Day fun for the whole family! Activities start at 1pm with a bike decorating contest. There will also be a kids zone with inflatable face painting, reptiles and DIY birdhouse. Live bands will be on the main stage and fireworks will light the sky at 10pm.

Canada Day in Rockland at Du Moulin Parc from 8 am to 10:30 pm with a car show, live music, inflatable games, face painting, Meet the Keepers & fireworks.

Canada Day Celebrations in Russell from 9 am to dusk with Kids Games and Activities, Bouncy Castles and Carnival Games, volleyball tournament, facepainting, Russell Fire Department Giant Water Sprinkler and fireworks in the evening.

Canada Day in Stittsville at Sacred Heart High School from 1 pm to 10:00 pm with live music, games and entertainment for children of all ages & fireworks at 9:45 pm. Also Bouncy Houses and Zip line, Wagon Rides, Reptile shows, Face Painting, Food Truck Court and more!

Canada Day Fun & Fireworks in Greely. Starting at noon, there will be activities for kids and adults alike: inflatables, a petting zoo, kids crafts and free play activities that’ll run through most of the day. A hotdog BBQ, fries for charity, snacks and food vendors as well as a vendor marketplace, beer garden and live music.

Riverside South Canada Day Celebrations at Claudette Cain Park. Come enjoy inflatables, miniature train ride, rock climbing wall, laser tag, mini golf, obstacle course, a dunk tank, shows by Reptiles Rock and Junkyard Symphony, toddler zone, live DJ, face painting, balloon clowns, BBQ, and more! The day will end with a professional fireworks display sponsored the the Riverside South Development Corporation.

Canada Day celebrations at the Museum of Space and Aviation  from 9 am to 5 pm with tons of entertainment and activities for the whole family. The admission fee to the museum is FREE all day on July 1st (donations welcome).

Canada Day at the Agriculture and Food Museum from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. This Canada Day, take part in a double birthday celebration at Canada Agriculture and Food Museum! We’ll be commemorating Canada’s birthday, while toasting the museum’s upcoming fortieth in October. Join us for a trip down memory lane, and discover historical facts about our beloved museum and its surrounding heritage buildings. Tempt your sweet tooth with maple ice cream making and tasting, or sample a maple leaf cookie. Watch our special demonstrations and learn about some Canadian livestock breeds, then test your knowledge with the Great Canadian Quiz! Little visitors will love making a special craft to take home. Museum admission will be FREE, but advanced ticketing is strongly recommended.

Canada Day at the Diefenbunker Museum will have family-friendly activities from 10am to 3:00pm. Includes family-friendly activities, a Canada themed scavenger hunt through the entire 4 story underground Bunker, an obstacle course, and more! Entry times must be booked ahead of time. Entry cannot be guaranteed without a pre-booked ticket.

Canada Day Celebrations in Almonte Mississippi Mills celebrates Canada’s Birthday for two days! Starting in Pakenham on June 30th with a parade at 7:00PM and ending at dusk on July 1st with an amazing fireworks show.

Canada Day at the Rockcliffe Flying Club from 8am to 8pm. Fly in, drive in or bike in! Activities include a pancake Breakfast, activities for kids, airport and airplane tours!

Otto’s Ottawa Canada Day Road Races July 1st 2023 will be the 35th edition of the Canada Day Road Races in support of the Ottawa Hospital Foundation. There is a run for everyone 100m tot trot, 1k kids run, 5k and 10k. The races will take place at Earl of March High School in Kanata.
