Here is a list of great activities happening in and around Ottawa on Canada Day 2024!

Canada Day Activities in the Ottawa Area

There will be something for everyone to enjoy on for Canada Day in Ottawa! This year the celebrations will mostly take place at LeBreton Flats Park from 9am to 10:30pm.

OHHH Canada Kids Festival Jeunesse is the newest Canada Day events in the nation’s capital, but it has its roots as the famous Canada Day on Petrie Island. It promises to be the premier destination for our incredible eastern Ottawa communities to take part in all things Canadian in celebration of our country’s birthday. Head to Millennium Park in Orleans for a spectacular party full of civic pride, many free activities and tons of family fun.

Canada Day in Kanata will be held at Walter Baker Park on June 30th & July 1st. Activities will include live bands, family fun zones, midway and of course, a beautiful display of fireworks!

Canada Day in Barrhaven at Clarke Fields from 8:30 am to 10:40 pm with a Kids Zone with activities & games, stage shows, midway rides, senior’s and family breakfast, free birthday cake, live music and fireworks at 10 pm. There will also be transportation from Heart & Crown Barrhaven and McDonough’s Independent Grocers to Clarke Fields.

Canada Day in Carleton Place The Town of Carleton Place invites you to spend Canada Day along the Mississippi River, as we celebrate Canada Day with an assortment of live music, food, and family fun from 12:30 p.m. – 10:15 p.m.

Canada Day in Osgoode. Come spend the day at the Osgoode Community Centre for some Canada Day fun for the whole family! Activities start at 1:30pm with a bike decorating contest. There will also be a kids zone with inflatable face painting, petting zoo and DIY wooden toolboxes. Live bands will be on the main stage and fireworks will light the sky at 10pm.

Canada Day in Rockland at Simon Park from 8 am to 10:30 pm with a car show, live music, inflatable games, face painting, pickleball clinics, an Escape Room & fireworks.

Canada Day Fun & Fireworks in Greely. Starting at noon, there will be activities for kids and adults alike: inflatables, a petting zoo, kids crafts and free play activities that’ll run through most of the day. A hotdog BBQ, fries for charity, snacks and food vendors as well as a vendor marketplace, beer garden and live music and a fireworks show!

Riverside South Canada Day Celebrations at Claudette Cain Park. Come enjoy inflatables, miniature train ride, rock climbing wall, laser tag, mini golf, obstacle course, a dunk tank, shows by Reptiles Rock and Junkyard Symphony, toddler zone, live DJ, face painting, balloon clowns, BBQ, and more! The day will end with a professional fireworks display sponsored the the Riverside South Development Corporation.

Canada Day celebrations at the Museum of Space and Aviation  from 9 am to 5 pm with tons of entertainment and activities for the whole family. The admission fee to the museum is FREE all day on July 1st (donations welcome). A flat parking fee of 5$ is applicable.

Canada Day at the Agriculture and Food Museum from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. It’s time to celebrate! The Canada Agriculture and Food Museum is highlighting Canada’s birthday with lots of exciting activities for the whole family. Join us for a trip down memory lane, and discover historical facts about our beloved museum and its surrounding heritage buildings. Tempt your sweet tooth with maple ice cream making and tasting, or sample a strawberry rhubarb crisp. Watch our special demonstrations and learn about some Canadian livestock breeds, then test your knowledge with the Great Canadian Quiz! Visitors of all ages will love making a special craft to take home. Museum admission will be FREE (please note that regular parking fees apply), and advanced ticketing is recommended. Tickets will be available online on Tuesday, June 25, at 10 a.m.

Canada Day at the Diefenbunker Museum will have family-friendly activities from 10am to 3:00pm. Includes a Canada themed scavenger hunt through the entire 4 story underground Bunker, an obstacle course, and more! Entry times must be booked ahead of time. Tickets will be 50% off on Monday July 1st 2024!

Canada Day Celebrations in Almonte Mississippi Mills celebrates Canada’s Birthday for two days! Starting in Pakenham on June 30th with a parade at 7:00PM and ending in Almonte at dusk on July 1st with an amazing fireworks show.

Otto’s Ottawa Canada Day Road Races July 1st 2024 will be the 36th edition of the Canada Day Road Races in support of the Ottawa Hospital Foundation. There is a run for everyone 100m tot trot, 1k kids run, 5k and 10k. The races will take place at Earl of March High School in Kanata.
