Upcoming free activities in the Ottawa area

  • Salsa babies is an activity for families and children of all ages held at Jean Pigott Place every Tuesday until August 18th from 10 am to noon. It’s a great opportunity to introduce your children to music and dance
  • Circus Jam is an activity for families and children (supervision required) held at Marion Dewar Plaza every Tuesday until August 25th from 7 to 9 pm
  • Zumba in the park on July 30th from 6:30 to 8 pm at Mousette Park in Hull
  • The Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival presents their Bring the Kids! series of 3 free shows for the whole family held at City Hall
  • The movie HOME will be presented at Westboro Beach (Kitchissipi Lookout) Friday July 31st at dusk and the movie BOX TROLLS will be presented Friday August 14 th at Heritage park in Orleans at dusk as part of the Friday Night Flicks
  • Casino Lac Leamy Sound of Light Festival will start August 8th at the museum of history with fireworks & performances on August 8th, 12th, 15th & 22nd. The onsite admission is 8$ per person and free for children under the age of 11 and it is also possible to still see the fireworks even if not onsite.
  • Agwata is a free 15 minute long multimedia watershow presented every evening until August 2nd at 9:30 pm, 10 pm & 10:30 pm. The location of the watershow is at the Ruisseau de la Brasserie on Hanson Street in Gatineau
  • Ottawa International Buskerfest will be held from July 30th to August 3rd on Sparks Streets in Ottawa. This years edition features over 150 outdoor shows, a bouncy castle as well as the circus school
  • Changing of the guard is held everyday at 10 am until August 21st on Parliament Hill
  • The Sound and light show on Parliament Hill is held every evening until September 12th 2015 at 10 pm in July, 9:30 pm in August and 9 pm in September
