With summer vacation just around the corner, Ottawa Kids has compiled a list of awesome summer day camps ideas to keep the kids busy!!
Camp Altitude gym: Camp Altitude Gym is for children from 6 to 14 years old who want to discover the exciting sport of rock climbing or who want to improve their climbing skills. There is an outing every Wednesday, at least 2 climbing periods every day and outdoor activities.
Ottawa Humane Society summer camps: These week-long camps each feature a special theme and are a great opportunity for children to get a more in-depth behind-the-scenes OHS experience, while visiting with shelter animals.
N.U.T.S: N.U.T.S is proud to host its 2019 summer camps in collaboration with Revel Academy. An entire week of fun activities inside and outside including science experiments, a cooking class, games, refreshing times in a wading pool and obstacle training of course. For kids aged 8 & up.
St. Paul’s Fine Arts Summer Camp in the City is a 3 day intensive art camp for ages 7-13 will take place from July 17th to 19th 2019 from 9am to noon. It will be led by Ottawa-based, professional mixed media artist, Karen Goetzinger. Each day, children will devote themselves to learning and applying a different elements of Klee’s work, take a few water balloon breaks along the way, and open and close with a Christ-centered devotion, re-cap, and prayer. St Paul offers this program at a cost of $25 to allow all children to benefit from the wonder and joy of quality, art programming.
TRYumph Gymnastics Academy offer a UNIQUE Ninja Warriors, Gymnastics, Fencing, Slack Line and many more experiences for children ages 4-16. Campers will develop balance, coordination, strength, confidence, and goal setting skills in a positive environment.
Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo. Junior Zoo Keeper Camps are a fun and educational opportunity geared towards kids aged 6-14. They will spend the entire week with Zoo staff, assist with real zoo keeping tasks, learn about zoo animals and get opportunities to handle many species of animal. Kids will also go on nature walks daily and learn about the environment as well as local flora and fauna.
Pedalheads: Pedalheads offer great camps for children 4 & up who want to learn to bike safely and without training wheels in a fun and safe environment.
Saunders Farm: At Saunders Farm kids 5 to 12 will explore the wonder and magic of Saunders Farm including farming, Mazes and Labyrinths, farm fresh food and its connection to healthy living, planting, performing arts, and much more.
Ottawa GeeGees: The University of Ottawa Gee-Gees offer a wide variety of bilingual sport camps. Youth can choose between specialized sports or general sports camps.
Mad Science: Mad Science engages children ages 5 to 12 in scientific explorations that are so much fun children will forget they’re learning! Campers can team up with fellow engineers to build a bridge, participate in an unforgettable dinosaur dig, build and launch a model rocket and explore the science behind their favorite sports.
Farm Camp: If you live in the West end, Farm Camp at Saunders Farm is definitely an A-MAZE-ING camp for kids! Throughout the week, campers explore all the wonder and magic of Saunders Farm including farming, Mazes and Labyrinths, farm fresh food and its connection to healthy living, planting, and so much more. Campers will also get the chance to cool off and swim in our pool every day, supervised by our qualified life guard. For children 5 to 12 years old.
