With Halloween right around the corner, Ottawa Kids has compiled a list of all family friendly events for you to enjoy!

FRIDAY OCTOBER 25TH

Annual Halloween Event – Minto Recreation Complex from 5pm to 7pm at the Minto Recreation Complex in Barrhaven.
Pumpkin decorating, crafts, picture booth, games and bouncy castle.
Cost: Free, but please bring a non perishable donation to the food bank.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 26TH

A Barnyard Halloween at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum from 9:30am to 4pm.
This Halloween, bring the whole family to the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum for a spine-chilling good time! Make some ghoulish treats, create a creepy craft, learn all about bats, enjoy a barn dance, and visit a spooky barn. Costumed visitors — young and old alike — can join the costume parade and choose their very own pumpkin to bring home.

Pumpkin Fest at Proulx Farm from 10am to 5pm with face-painting, hay structures, tree house and slides, go Pedal tricycles bikes, several giant outdoor Play parks, mazes & corn field mazes + Clue hunting in our tall pine forest, children’s show, family-friendly wagon ride through the mysterious forest

Halloween Costume Party at the Log Farm from 9am to 4pm.
Come out to the farm this weekend for some family friendly Halloween fun!!! They are having a costume party at the farm, WAGON RIDES, CORN MAZE, SCARECROW LANE, ANIMALS, PUMPKINS and so much more!!! All children in costumes will receive a FREE loot bag of yummy treats!!

Halloween at the Bank of Canada Museum . Bring the little monsters in for some Halloween fun.Check out these activities:

  • Find the 5 hidden lucky pennies in our Luck and Lore exhibition and win some tasty candy.
  • Colouring fun! Colour in your museum avatar character: a vampire, mummy and more—make it scary!
  • Create a lucky-penny holder. Children will receive their very own lucky penny and a paper folding kit to make a special, Museum-themed holder.
  • Twice each day, there will be story time for the wee ones—about some curious uses of money: 11:15 and 15:45.
  • Guided tours of Luck and Lore will be held daily at 11:30 and 14:30. Meet at the front desk.

Mall-O-Ween at Carlingwood Shopping Centre from 10am to 1pm.
Come in costume and collect candy from four designated Trick or Treat locations!

Haunting Season at Saunders Farm from 10am to 5pm with over 35 attractions, live shows, a parade, 9 Hedge Mazes, multiple food booths, and so much more! It’s a spook-tacular experience for the whole family! 

Tricks’N Treats – The Haunted Mall Adventure at Billings Bridge Shopping Centre from 11am to 3pm.

Kreepy Kemptville from 10am to 1pm in Kemptville.
Dress up and head to Downtown Kemptville on Saturday October 26 at 10am for some scary fun and trick or treating (while supplies last) at selected businesses.

Jo-Jo’s Pizzeria Pumpkin Patch Party from 11am to 2pm. Party starts at 11 AM on Saturday, October 26 (Rain date Oct. 27) @ 1573 Stittsville Main St. (Jo-Jo’s Pizzeria Stittsville Parking Lot). Free Pumpkins, Free Pizza and Free Ice cream while quantities last. Limit of 1 slice and 1 cone per person! Additional free fun includes bouncy castles, face painting, Live DJ + More!

Howl-O-Ween at the Ottawa Humane Society from 11am to 1:30pm. Come in costume and join in on all the spook-tacular free family fun at the OHS! Halloween themed activities will include: Photo booth, Craft & bake sale, Face painting, Halloween-themed crafts, Visits with OHS animals, Sweet treats. Donations are appreciated to help support the event.

IndigoKids: Halloween at Indigo Barrhaven from 11am to noon.
Dress up in your best costume and join us for a Halloween parade! Plus, make your own colour changing slime and hunt for treasure in our Foam Alive demo. Free event.

Zombie’s Invade the Bunker at the Diefenbunker Museum.
Tickets need to be purchased in advance. Recommended for children ages 12+.

Wickedly Westboro at Westboro Village from 1pm to 5pm.
Dress up your kids and pups and come to Westboro Village for a family-friendly fright fest – WICKEDLY WESTBORO. FREE!

Trick or Treat with the Mayor at City Hall from 5pm to 8pm.
Put on your Halloween costume and come by City Hall on October 26th to enjoy an evening of Halloween activities and treats.
See what’s brewing in the Spooky Witches Den before visiting all your favourite movie and story book characters! Be wowed and get up close to some amazing little creatures and characters then decorate your very own mini pumpkin.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 27TH

Lansdowne Park Pumpkin Derby from 9am to 4pm at Aberdeen Pavilion.
Join us at this community event for lots of games, crafts, activities and, of course, pumpkin derby races!

Mansion Mayhem at Goulbourn Museum from 9am to 12pm.
Goulbourn Museum’s fun-filled morning of costumes, candy, cackling and hair-raising Halloween hijinks is back! Drop your little ghosts and goblins off to decorate edible haunted houses, make creepy crafts and play ghoulish games! This is a drop-off activity for ages 6-11.

Halloween Hijinks at Cumberland Heritage Village Museum from 10am to 4pm. A day of family-friendly Halloween fun at the museum! Wear your costume and explore the origins of Halloween traditions as you collect some yummy treats along the way. Complete a scavenger hunt inspired by some of the spooky symbols associated with the season, see if you can determine fact or fiction when it comes to Halloween trivia, create your own masquerade mask, explore Halloween in early Hollywood, and more!

Spooky Stories and Urban Legends at the Nepean Museum from 10am to 4pm. Kids and families are invited to join us for hands-on fun as we explore tales, legends, and stories about the things that go bump in the night and that have inspired some of our favourite Halloween traditions. Gail Anglin from Ottawa Storytellers will help bring these tales to life and Fantasy Face Painting will complete your Halloween transformation.

Halloween Scavenger Hunt at Boston Pizza Barrhaven from 11am to 2pm. Attention all little witches, goblins & ghouls!!! The BP Kitchen witch’s cauldron has boiled over! Join us on Sunday Oct 27th to help us find all of the spooky ingredients before the staff and guests (GULP!) get turned into toads! Ribbit-ribbit… Don’t forget to dress up! The spookier…the better! Halloween treat bags for all those who complete the task! Reservations are required. Scavenger hunt is for kids 10 & under only

Tricks’N Treats – The Great Wonderland Tea Party at Billing Bridge Shopping Centre from 11:30 to 2pm.

Zombie’s Invade the Bunker at the Diefenbunker Museum.
Tickets need to be purchased in advance. Recommended for children ages 12+.

Haunted Horaceville at Pinhey’s Point Historic Site from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. Immerse yourself in the legends and lore of the Ottawa Valley…if you dare. These ghostly tales will leave you unsettled, a familiar feeling to early settlers at Hallow’een. Bring your friends and gather round for a live storytelling program that will shift your understanding of history from the ordinary to the otherworldly. A lantern-lit tour of the manor house will add to the atmosphere. S’mores and hot apple cider will be served for a seasonal treat.

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 30TH

Halloween Costume Party at Wild Child Coffee Project from 9am to 3pm.
Join us in your costumes on October 30th (the day before Halloween) for a day filled with activities and fun!

THURSDAY OCTOBER 31ST

Toddler’s Halloween Hunt from 10am to 3:30pm at the Diefenbunker Museum. Come dressed up in your favourite costume. Discover spooky (and cute) ghosts and monsters throughout the museum to collect treats.

Trick or Treat – Toddler Time at the Log Farm from 10am to 1pm

The Enchanted Halloween Parade from 5pm to 7pm at Billings Bridge Shopping Centre.

The Haunted Community Centre at Dovercourt Recreation Centre from 6:30 to 8:30pm.
Stop by for some Halloween treats and 2 haunted houses- a friendly house for the little ones and the scary house for the brave of heart.
