It’s that time of the year again…..The sap will start to flow soon and visiting a sugar bush is a great family activity. Some farms even offer tours and activities for families. Be sure to call ahead of time and make reservations.
Bean Town is located in Plantagenet will be open March 14th to April 12th 2020.
Daytime visits include an all you can eat meal served to your table, horse drawn sleigh rides through the maple forest and taffy on the snow.
Evening visits include an all you can eat meal served to your table, horse drawn sleigh rides through the maple forest, taffy on the snow and a shooter of caribou. Every Saturday evening, there is also entertainment and dancing.
Fulton’s Pancake House & Sugar Bush is located between Almonte and Pankenham. This 400 acre farm has a 120 seat restaurant. It will be open from February 15th to April 19th 2020 (weekdays 9-3; weekends 8-3)
You can also bring your skis, snowshoes, and toboggans to explore the trails or take a self guided maple tour. On weekends, the following activities are also available:
- Face painting ($)
- Maple taffy ($) and cotton candy ($)
- Musical entertainment in the Pancake House
- Horse drawn rides ($)
Proulx Farm is located in Cumberland. The Sugar Bush will begin February 23rd until April 13th 2020.
Activities include visiting the farm and its activities, horse-drawn hay rides and a maple tour including a visit to the production shack.
MuseoPark Vanier is located in Ottawa and is the perfect opportunity to explore the only sugar shack in an urban setting in North America.
The sugar shack is open every weekend in March & April from 9am to 2pm by reservation only.
The 2020 edition of the SugarFest at Museopark Vanier will be held from March 30th to April 5th 2020.
Other activities include a petting farm, a children’s play area, an education centre, taffy on the snow ($) and sleigh rides ($).
Stanley’s Old Maple Lane Farm will be open Saturdays & Sundays from February 29th through April 12th 2020.
Temple’s Sugar Bush, located in Lanark has a 70 acre sugar bush with approximately 5,000 taps.
